My Journey
Over the past two decades, I’ve worked across academic medicine and healthcare systems, including roles as a hospitalist, residency program director, department chief, and now in executive leadership.
Along the way, I’ve mentored residents, faculty, and physician leaders as they navigated their own growth.
What I saw again and again was this: Many highly capable physicians struggled with leadership. Not because they lacked ability, but because they didn’t have the right support.
Medical training prepares us to care for patients.
It does not teach us how to lead people, influence systems, or handle the human side of healthcare organizations.
Meet Your Coach
Dr. Bindu Swaroop is a physician leader, educator, and mentor with over two decades of experience in clinical medicine, medical education, and healthcare leadership.
Throughout her career, she has held senior leadership and faculty roles in large healthcare systems and academic medical centers. She has led physician teams, developed educational programs, and mentored physicians at different stages of their careers.
She has been deeply involved in leadership development, teaching topics such as emotional intelligence, team leadership, communication, and career growth. She has also led invited presentations and workshops focused on helping physicians build leadership skills and navigate the realities of modern healthcare.
Through her coaching practice, Doctor to Leader, she supports physicians navigating leadership roles, career transitions, and the challenge of building meaningful, sustainable careers. Her work helps physicians think more clearly, lead more effectively, and stay grounded in what matters to them.
Dr. Bindu Swaroop is board-certified in Internal Medicine and remains actively involved in the development of physicians and healthcare leaders. She provides coaching in her personal capacity, independent of any government agency or healthcare institution.
